Under the direction of Dr. Cheryl Stolarski, our oral health
program is designed to meet specific agency and individual
needs of dentists, dental hygienists and dental assistants
in the New York and New Jersey area.
The program offers an extensive half-day to 5-day preceptorship
at dental schools and hospitals where participants will observe
faculty provide direct oral health care services to patients
in clinic settings. Management of specific cases is discussed
in detail.
Programs include didactic presentations, infection control
seminars, interactive workshops, on site consultations and
clinical trainings. Topics include:
- Medical Overview and Update on HIV Disease
- Infection Control in the Dental Clinic
- Oral Manifestations of HIV
- Treatment Plan for the HIV Infected Patient
- HIV Risk Assessment
- Legal Issues and HIV
- Smoking Cessation
- Co-Management of HIV Patients with Other Health Professionals
