Statement of Need

Drug interactions associated with HIV medications are common. Since HIV treatment is complex and patients are living longer, the risk of drug interactions related to poly-pharmacy is increasing. Since pharmacist are often the last people to see a prescription prior to dispensing to a patient, their role in preventing drug interactions is crucial. The web video series is designed to enhance the ability of Pharmacists to recognize common drug interactions and learn about interactions with HIV. Cases will be used to illustrate common drug interactions and strategies to identify and prevent them will be reviewed.

Target Audience
